Short answers on SQCDM, Pareto, deviation management and PDCA.

Questions and answers

What is SQCDM?

SQCDM is a lean management structure that tracks the dimensions of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Morale. Gemba OpXSuite brings these indicators together on one screen.

How does Gemba OpXSuite rank targets?

It moves the PDCA cycle into the digital environment, makes problems visible, assigns actions to owners and reports delays. Thanks to performance- and Pareto-focused tracking, managers monitor processes in real time and record improvements.

What is Pareto Analysis?

Also known as the 80/20 rule, the method shows that most effects come from a small number of causes. It is used to direct resources to the areas that will create the greatest impact.

What is a target deviation?

It is the difference between the defined KPIs and targets and the actual performance. It helps to diagnose performance problems early, manage risks and identify areas for improvement.

What is deviation management?

It is an approach that detects and analyzes when and why a process deviates from the targeted performance and eliminates the deviations. It covers defect recording, classification, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.

How does Gemba OpXSuite manage deviations?

By filtering operational data, it automatically determines the root factors of a deviation and ranks them on the Pareto screen. When a target is changed, the charts update instantly; analyses can be taken daily, weekly and monthly.

What is PDCA?

It is the basic problem-solving cycle used in lean production; it aims to address problems systematically and support a culture of continuous improvement.

What is PDCA task management?

It is the management process covering the definition of problems arising in daily operations, action planning, owner assignment and due-date tracking.

What does the PDCA dashboard bring to businesses?

Fast detection of daily deviations, coordination between teams, solutions at the root-cause level and a sustainable OpEx culture; reduced cost losses and prevention of quality errors.
